Registered Nurse/Charge Nurse needed at the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital located at Fort Leonard Wood, MO near the city of Waynesville.
Responsibilities:
Patient Care Duties - Provides comprehensive nursing care to obstetrical and newborn patients receiving complex medical treatment often involving new or non-standardized treatment. Examines women in labor and evaluates progress to determine when an ob/gyn or pediatric physician should be notified for delivery. Assist the physician or midwife with delivery, to include resuscitation and intensive neo-natal care on the infant when required. Observes antepartal, postpartum, and newborn patients for vital signs and complications; determining if the physician should be contacted. Resuscitate until physician arrives if needed. Instructs patients in self and infant care, ensures understanding of instructions and documents all care. Maintain a close working relationship with medical staff, patients and their families in order to formulate a plan of care through the use of the nursing process.
Qualifications:
Incumbent must be able to work rotating shifts. M! ust have and maintain current RN licensure. Must have a yearly! mandatory influenza immunization. Must have a child background check. Is part of a mandatory drug testing program.
