Description: Peoples Health Centers Family of Companies is currently interviewing Quality Control/Infection Control (QC/IC) Coordinator right now, this vacancy will be placed in Missouri. PHC provides quality health care and social services to thousands of uninsured and medically underserved people in the St. Louis community.

People's Health Centers also offers an open access clinic (no appointment necessary), client centered cluster visits, community health education, nursing, mobile van outreach, school-linked services and prevention health services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develops, coordinates, and presents a general orientation program for new staff and educates staff ongoing relative to infection control and performance improvement plans. Revises and updates policies and plans associated with infection control and performance improvement plans. Strives to continually improve professional knowledge base through individual resea! rch, reading, and attendance of workshops/conferences and prof! essional organizations. Follows all environmental and safety guidelines/standards per health center policy/procedure and attend all required in-services to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base related to assigned duties. Ensures compliance with infection control and performance improvement policies through chart audit, ongoing surveillance, and health center rounds. Determines the prevalence of nosocomial infections and maintains a reporting record to trend for purposes of performance improvement. Reports quarterly and as needed to the appropriate committees, as indicated for infection control reporting and mandated state reporting. Reviews, revises, and develops infection control policies and procedures that comply with the standards set forth by the Joint Commission, OSHA, NCQA, PHC and state and federal guidelines. Monitors and collects data related to infection control and performance improvement plans. Performs data entry personal computer. Provides monthly statisti! cal reports on compliance. Participate in the health center's performance improvement, safety, infection prevention, compliance and emergency response plans.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
