As part of the SBU Chocolate the Cocoa Sourcing Manager will need to ensure the implementation of the Cacao-Trace program following the 4 pillars of the strategy:

Position Overview
Drive the implementation of the Cacao-Trace sourcing strategy, purchase and sustainability, in Asia Pacific.
To strengthen our site in Vietnam, we are currently seeking a
Regional Cocoa Manager APAC (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam)
Reporting directly to the Global Cocoa Manager, the successful candidate for this key function will be responsible:
Key Accountabilities
Pillar 1: Economically viable cocoa supply chain
- Lead Cacao-Trace sourcing; manage a direct team, and work closely with strategic partners in Asia pacific cocoa producing countries: Vietnam, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Laos, and new markets, in collaboration with HQ cocoa sourcing unit.
- Implement and monitor agronomic programs to increase productivity of farms and revenues of famers while keeping a strong link with research and new innovative solutions
- Manage Cacao-Trace certification implementation and organize external audit cycles and follow up on corrective actions when needed
- Be an active member of the vertical integration team to secure the supply of cacao-trace certified cocoa ingredients from the Asian sourcing up to the chocolate sourcing units in the group that use them
- Coordinate tolling agreement and cocoa ingredient development and supply chains with bean processing units (internal or third party)
- In collaboration with the Cocoa Sourcing team, implement a global monitoring tool (KPI’S) to collect data (GPS mapping + farmer database) to measure our impact on farmers, and improve continuously to prove the shared value business model of Cacao-Trace
- Follow up origins sourcing in the APAC region on request
Pillar 2: Environment protection and global warming resilience
- For any Cacao-Trace countries, analyze local needs, implement, and monitor programs to help farmers with their resilience to global warming (agroforestry project, new planting material etc…) and the protection of the environment (best agricultural practices, organic certification etc…)
- Continuous learning in this field of activities
Pillar 3: superior taste & consistent quality
- As part of sourcing partnerships, implement new cacao-trace post-harvest centers and manage existing ones to ensure premium, consistent taste, by managing quality activities (fermentation and drying)
- Implement monitoring systems ( traceability & process control) and develop local competencies
Pillar 4: sustainable living
- Develop expertise on social, economic, and environmental challenges, in the countries where we are active
- Make diagnostic on how best use the chocolate bonus for a more sustainable living.
- Implement the chocolate bonus in APAC and monitor its impact year by year
- Monitor, and evaluate impact, collect farmers stories, and contribute to annual reports
Profile
- 7-10 years’ experience in sourcing and or sustainability working for the industry and/or certification body.
- Mix of operational and strategically thinking with business understanding and strong field vision
- Project management skills: structured, organized in its project and communication. Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and under pressure
- Leadership skills to manage complexity (interdependency, understanding challenges, find consensus)
- Sense of ownership and responsibility
- Strong team player from HQ to the countries
- Manage multicultural diversity
- Continuous improvement and adaptation to a changing environment
- Willing to travel to cocoa producing regions on a regular basis (50%)
- Language & reporting skills: English (oral and written), Vietnamese is a plus
