Perform ultrasonic diagnostic images for any current or potential problems in high risk pregnancies in accordance with the practice protocols.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform ultrasound diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician for the patients
Responsible for complete care, working independently
Ensure patient process is facilitated properly and minimize patient anxiety
2D, 3D, 4D ultrasound examinations
Pre-conceptual counseling
Chronic villus sampling and amniocentesis procedure guidance
Routine exams in early first, second, and third trimester
Dating and viability sonography, first trimester ultra-screens, early anatomy (modified sequential screening),
Determine normal from patholofical variants through sonographic recognition of charateristics for normal and abnormal tissue, structure, blood flow, proper patient positioning and tranducer-intrument selection
Identify and document any limitations to the sonography examination
Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPPA, facility policies and procedures
Observe patient well-being for unusual circumstances
Obtain, correlate, and document pertinent patient history and clinical data to optimize diagnostic results
Generate, proofread, and review ultrasound preliminary reports
Manually back-up and transfer all examinations done on any ultrasound machine that is not directly wired with PACS
Training of student during their clinical externships
Transporting machine(s) and supplies to and from each location as necessary
Maintains regular and predictable attendance
Performs other essential duties as assigned Degree of an accredited medical sonography program
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Obstetrics/Gynecology (ARDMS) certified
Fetal medicine Foundation certificate in Nuchal Translucency (NT) Scan
Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic.
English sufficient to provide and receive instructions/directions.
