PHC provides quality health care and social services to thousands of uninsured and medically underserved people in the St. Louis community.
People's Health Centers also offers an open access clinic (no appointment necessary), client centered cluster visits, community health education, nursing, mobile van outreach, school-linked services and prevention health services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Reviews patient file/record, including allergies, problems, medications, well-child visits, and immunization status. Elicits and records information about patient's medical, developmental, social, and family history. Examines patient to determine general physical condition or presence of disease or injury. Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition Analyzes reports and finding! s of tests and examination, and diagnoses condition of patient! . Administers or prescribes treatments as needed. Determines and prescribes medication, dosage, and schedule given the patient's condition and allergies. Prescribes and administers vaccinations to immunize patient from communicable diseases.
Discusses any possible side effects to medication or immunization with parent or patient. Refers patients to medical specialist for consultant services when necessary for patient's well-being. Follows up with patient or parent regarding progress in high risk or emergency cases. Establishes preventive health practices.
Education and/or Experience:
Graduate of accredited school of medicine. Completion of pediatric residency.
