This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week.

This position is in the Department of OB/GYN. This position is for the Medical School Campus.
Essential Functions
POSITION SUMMARY:
Position obtains insurance information, referral forms and counsels patients on financial assistance when seen in Department for services.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Obtains insurance information from patients and counsels alternative ways for financial assistance.
2. Registers all new patients, assisting with form completion.
3. Reviews schedule for new patients, updating when necessary.
4. Retrieves chart, prepare schedules, and assists with patient/office workflow as required.
5. Calls patients with appointment time reminder, obtaining insurance information and referral forms.
6. Explains billing process to patients, answers incoming inquires from patients and third party payers.
Other Functions:
7. Assists patients with insurance questions regarding! billing process.
8. Assists staff with sending out reminder cards and other related scheduling duties.
9. Assists with basic account maintenance activities.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma with 2 years experience in billing systems and third party claims or related medical office experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Salary Range
The hiring range for this position is $11.82 to $14.48 per hour.
