The Assistant Manager, Affinity Group Analytics “Assistant Manager†role is part of the Operational Excellence leadership development program, a program designed to provide broad experiences and professional growth to participants. The Assistant Manager is responsible for leading the Affinity Group Analyst team comprised of four Sr. Analysts/Analysts as well as coordinating with The Resource Group and Clinical Excellence to accelerate the development of, and analytics for, six Specialty Affinity Groups: oncology, obstetrics and gynecological surgery, interventional cardiology, electro-physiology, spine surgery, joint surgery, and general and bariatric surgery. The Assistant Manager will coordinate with the Assistant Manager Strategic Sourcing Analytics to develop analytical approaches, ensure high customer service and satisfaction for The Resource Group customers, and coordinate training, and assign projects. In addition to their leadership and management responsibilities, the role will also ensuring the accurate and timely preparation/presentation of deliverables, reports, and data; as well as provide appropriate consultative services via written and verbal communications and financial analysis to the appropriate stakeholders. While this position has focused responsibilities, it will also support any resource and supply management activities as necessary.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to members of the Affinity Group Analyst team (four Sr. Analysts/Analysts). Coordinate resource availability and project planning for Affinity Group Analyst team assignments based on the System implementation plan. Support Specialty Affinity Group leaders with regard to financial analysis, reporting, measuring of data/statistics. Lead project management and on-site implementation of initiatives, as appropriate. Develop support tools using advanced Excel and/or Access skills for implementation support, tracking, and reporting of performance metrics for supply expense improvement initiatives. Lead research initiatives for solution design. Develop data collection tools and analytical methodology to use for analysis purposes. Interpret data concerning supply utilization trends and forecasts as they relate to the performance metrics and provide recommendations to Specialty Affinity Group leadership and applicable stakeholders. Lead implementation of project management plans and manage process to timely completion of goals by managing and reporting progress of project management plans to key stakeholders. Support implementation efforts of various Resource Group and Decision Team initiatives with regard to analysis, project planning, communication, and tactical assistance. Assist in communication between the System Office and Health Ministries through development of communication materials. Conducts informal and formal performance reviews with Analyst team members. Engages Senior Leadership both at the Health Ministries and System Office in support of enhancing and further developing the Analyst Team Operational Excellence program. Acts as a leader, in collaboration with the National Manager, Analytics, and the Assistant Manager, Strategic Sourcing Analytics, to recruit and retain top talent. Participate in an Analyst-wide “community†spanning Ascension Health and its Health Ministries for the purpose of building networks, assisting on projects, attending community-building and training events, sharing best practices, and providing advice for the betterment of the Analyst community.

Qualifications:
The position requires completion of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a focus on business, logistics, finance, or healthcare; Master’s degree required Five to seven years applicable experience demonstrating increasing responsibilities is required Previous leadership and team management experience preferred Strong communication skills and the ability to engage clinicians, physicians, and executive leadership required Healthcare experience, resource and supply management (e.g. supply chain) and/or other similar experience where analytical, leadership, and critical thinking skills are considered to be transferable is preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The position requires strong leadership, project management, and analytical skills with the ability to produce results with minimal supervision. Critical thinking and written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Time management and the ability to work on multiple projects at one time are vital. Proficient to expert use of spreadsheet, database, presentation and word processing applications are required. Candidates are also required to pass an Excel assessment and a business case study given during the interview process.
