Through the Gem State Public Health program, members will conduct needs assessments regarding collaborations and partnerships, and recruit potential partnerships as well as coordinate meetings, design training materials, and provide other support to public health agencies. Members will also conduct ASSIST and QPR training for community members to increase the number of suicide prevention interventionalists throughout Idaho. The program will offer members academic advising and the opportunity to explore degree options that focus on public health.



Member Duties : The Evening Team Member plays a very important role for our homeless guests. This is hands on, making a difference, being part of changing a person’s life. You are there to help guests manage the rules of the shelter, navigate their own personal needs, and provide a healthy and safe shelter environment for the guests, volunteers and other staff members in a respectful, compassionate and dignified way. Must be dependable and exhibit authority in a kind, calm manner. Must be comfortable working with guests who struggle with addiction and mental health. Must consistently communicate and uphold shelter policies and procedures. Must be a team player and willing to help where it is needed. Nightly responsibilities will include assisting with: Manage guest hospitality needs, assist supervisor as needed, provide facility maintenance (i.e. laundry, cleaning, stocking, etc.), and Directly reports to Evening Team Shift Lead/Shelter Director.
