Part Time - Global Studies - Project Associate


 

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Center for Global Studies (CGS) in the College of Liberal Arts is hiring a part-time project associate, who is highly interested in global issues and research. The goal of the CGS is to support research, teaching, and programming that will advance Penn State’s expertise in global studies and international perspectives. The CGS will also foster global citizenship and cross-cultural awareness through the support of language instruction at the University Park campus.

Job Duties

  • Conduct global studies research.
  • Assist CGS with events and outreach programs.
  • Help advertise the Center for Global Studies on campus.
  • Work with other Penn State departments to achieve CGS goals.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum GPA: 3.0
  • Detail-oriented
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks
  • Basic information technology skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently

This is a part-time opening with the expectation that our project associate will work a maximum of 20 hours per week.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
