The Family Care Pharmacy offers a professional retail pharmacy experience. The pharmacy provides discharge medications for obstetrics, outpatient surgery, and the Cancer/Infusion Center. Pharmacists are actively involved in counseling patients and interacting with other medical personnel. Hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday and 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
Role Purpose
Under th! e direct supervision of staff pharmacists, according to standa! rd procedures, prepares medication orders, assists in dispensing and transporting medications, conducts sterile and/or non-sterile compounding, interacts with various automated systems and maintains appropriate records.
Responsibilities
Maintains quality assurance standards and maintenance of required documentation. Includes maintaining regulatory cleanliness compliance.
Assists in the preparation of medication orders which includes customer interaction, management of workflow, and basic preparation and dispensing.
Accurately prepare sterile/non-sterile compounding to meet patient specific needs in compliance with national standards and department guidelines.
Use of automated/electronic systems to manage product preparation, inventory management, patient records, and regulatory compliance.
Maintenance of inventory which includes inventory storage, ordering, rotating, beyond use dating, and cleanliness.
