This position is full-time and works approximately! 40 hours per week.

This position is in the Department of OB/GYN - Specialty Gynecology. The position is located at the Medical School Campus.

Essential Functions

POSITION SUMMARY:
Design and development of data entry systems. Participates at all levels of research-related activities, including innovative data analysis, design of experiments, clinical trials and epidemiological studies, and preparation of reports, manuscripts and grant proposals. Makes scientific contributions to collaborative projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs data analysis and/or data management using the latest and best methodologies as implemented in statistical packages (SAS), including generation of tables and graphs.

2. Advises and assists investigators in the design of experiments, clinical trials and epidemiological studies.

3. Assists in data base design, implementation and mai! ntenance of data collected over time for research purposes, in! cluding acquisition, editing and reporting.

4. Functions as an expert statistical consultant primarily in collaborative studies involving the medical school community.

5. Assumes major/exclusive responsibilities on large projects.

6. Trains and/or supervises other staff.

7. Actively participates in and contributes to the scientific deliberations on collaborative research projects.

8. Coordinates and/or performs many research-related activities with limited supervision and direction from a faculty level investigator, including but not limited to:

(a) Prioritizing and timely delivery of statistical analysis

(b) Literature search, report writing, drafting manuscripts and grants.

(c) Preparation of progress reports and manuals of procedure.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree. Ph.D. or equivalent preferred. At least five years related experience with much independence in project mana! gement.

Preferred Qualifications

Expert knowledge base and experience with SAS and high degree of proficiency in data analysis and data management. PC/UNIX knowledge. Skills and demonstrated success in designing and executing appropriate statistical data analysis. Capable of assuming a leadership role, including drafting manuscripts and grants.

Salary Range

The hiring range for this position is $61,838 to $80,392 annually.
