Reports to: ACNO
Responsible for all aspects of Nursing and staff within the Perinatal units (Labor and Delivery, Mother-Baby, and Neona! tal Intensive Care). Assist in developing standards for nursing practice. Ensure all aspects of nursing care comply with applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements. Develop and motivate others. Demonstrate leadership qualities through sound fiscal decisions, self-control, and articulation.
Must be strong nursing leader, have strong experience in labor and delivery nursing, should have experience in upgrading equipment or experience in start up.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develops, implements, and evaluates the quality of nursing care delivery;
2. Develops and administers the operational budget for department/services;
3. Develops administrative goals and objectives for nursing. Ensures goals are met;
4. Actively participates in performance improvement activities or other quality management initiatives;
5. Provides leadership to the department of nursing and serves as a role model within the org! anization;
6. Promotes the utilization of research an! d remains current on specific departmental benchmarks;
7. Provides service in a manner that is appropriate for the patient?s age; demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to meet the patient?s physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs;
8) Complies with the requirements of the Code of Conduct, Corporate Compliance Plan and Compliance Policies and Procedures, including training requirements. Participates in compliance activities under the direction of the Department Manager and Corporate Compliance Officer.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Minimum Requirements
1. Applicants are required to have a Baccalaureate in Nursing or a graduate degree in nursing.
2. Maintain current Missouri license as a professional nurse (RN).
3. Seven years RN experience.
4. Five years progressive leadership experience.
5. Ability to analyze information, formulate and implement effective plans for using i! nformation
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
