This position is located at the Community Based Primary Care Clinic near Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while acting within the scope of their employment.

Physician is required to be Board Certified in Family Practice.

May be required to work weekend call duties and evenings.

This is an Inclement Weather Essential Position: Incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES:
You will serve as a board certified Family Practice Physician under the supervision of the Group Practice Manager at the Ozark Family Center Medical Home near Fort Leonard Wood in Saint Roberts, Missouri. The scope of services include, but are not limited to, examination, diagnosis, prevention & treatment of medical, surgical, obstetric, gynecological, & orthopedic care. You will provide first contact, continuous, comprehensive primary care for infants, children, youth, & adults according to current standards of care, the patient centered medical home model of care, & Army policy & relevant regulations. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team of individuals who collectively take responsibility for the ongoing care of patients. You will supervise other health care providers as assigned and assign work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, & the capabilities of employees. You will also provide technical oversight, identify developmental & training needs of employees, and provide and/or arrange for needed development & training.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Minimum Qualifications: • Degree: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicants graduation. [A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States may be demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) (or a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country).] • Graduate Training: Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree, a candidate must have had at least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., a 1-year internship or the first year of a residency program in an institution accredited for such training. • Licensure/Certification: Candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States • Specialized Experience: Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their resume that they possess 4 years of specialized experience to include internship/residency training and board certification in the specialty of Family Practice. This required experience/training will include skills, such as, but not limited to, a wide range of medical duties specializing in examination, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of medical, surgical, obstetric, gynecological, and orthopedic care. Exercises independent judgment with full responsibility for professional diagnosis, treatment, referral and disposition of patients. At least one year of this experience must have been at the next lower level, which would involve independent treatment of complex cases requiring advanced skills.

This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination and Hepatitis B immunization seriesrequirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations. Applicants tentatively selected for appointment to this position will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations & the Hepatitis B series.

All required background checks of AR-215-3 must be successfully completed and maintained including Child and Youth National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI); to include a health assessments is required.

Must comply with Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements.

You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.

If selected, official college or university transcript must be submitted.

Must provide documents for credentialing for health care positions.

All Health Care Providers must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) Training and certification as well as Advanced Life Support (ALS).

Employee is required to wear protective clothing and/or a uniform.

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
